MG Koblenz - City of Horticulture 2011
15th – 20th July
Enjoy the fantastic roads and scenery as you drive out of Belgium into the stunning Eifel region of Germany and through the far-reaching Eifel Forest, where you will find the formidable and infamous Nurburgring Nordschleife, the Green Hell. Visit the historic city of Cochem and then drive along the banks of the Mosel River to the wonderful city of Koblenz, situated at the German Corner, where the rivers of the Rhine and the Mosel meet. 2011 sees the city of Koblenz hosting the Federal Horticultural Show (BUGA) from April to October where you will be able to experience the blossoming splendour of the garden directly in the centre of a cosmopolitan city. Stroll down the Rhine promenade, hover over the river in a cable car, and enjoy the sun, music, art and culinary delights on offer.
Itinerary
For this tour you have a choice of departing from Dover to Calais or Hull to Rotterdam with P&O Ferries.

Friday 15th July
After our ferry crossing from Dover, depart Calais and enjoy the day's drive through France, Belgium and in to Germany’s Eifel region arriving at the Hotel Sonnenhof in Adenau late afternoon. If you wish and are making good time we recommend that you stop en-route at the beautiful Germanic town of Monschau. Approximate driving distance 290 miles.
A group buffet dinner has been organised for this evening.
Saturday 16th July
After the drive from Calais, a more relaxing day follows based in and around the Eifel region. You can drive the wonderful roads at your leisure or alternatively visit the Nurburgring F1 circuit and enjoy the back stage tour of the facilities and a tour of the Jaguar Test Centre.
Sunday 17th July
After a leisurely breakfast we drive to the historic city of Cochem, where you can explore the town and enjoy lunch before heading off on the scenic route along the banks of the Mosel river all the way up to the city of Koblenz and the meeting point of the rivers of the Rhine and the Mosel. Check-in to the Koblenz Mercure Hotel. Approximate driving distance 80 miles.

Monday 18th July
After breakfast, there will be a river cruise along the Rhine with a wine tasting experience included. The rest of the day is free for you to explore the city of Koblenz and the wonderful Horticultural Show.

Tuesday 19th July
A free day to really go and explore all of the delights on offer at the Horticultural Show.
Wednesday 20th July
After breakfast, depart from Koblenz for the drive back to Calais for the ferry.
