MG Brittany 2012
11th - 14th October
An autumnal tour, for one last blast, before you put the MG away for the winter. This long weekend will provide an opportunity to explore some of the typically picturesque coastal areas of Calvados and Brittany. This unique area of France has much to offer in rugged coasts, forests and preserved medieval towns. Our base will be the beautiful town of Dinan situated on the River Rance.
Itinerary:
Thursday 11th October
Check-in at the Brittany Ferries terminal in Portsmouth at 19.00hrs for 20.30hrs crossing to St. Malo. A 2 berth inside cabin has been reserved for this overnight crossing. A group dinner will be provided as the ship sails.
Friday 12th October
Arrival at St. Malo is at 08.15hrs.
Next to the port, the old town provides a perfect place to have breakfast, and stretch your legs on a walk around the impressive walls. From St. Malo you then drive around the coast to the impressive abbey at Mont St. Michel. From Mont St. Michel, head for Dinan and our 3 star hotel, which will be our home for the next couple of nights. The evening is free to explore the old town of Dinan.

Saturday 13th October
A choice of circular road runs have been organised, to take in the Forest de Paimpont, famous for its links to King Arthur and Merlin, then on to the exceptional motor museum and circuit at Loheac. Daily Distance = 135 miles. Alternatively a coastal road run visiting the fort at La Latte and the emerald coast at Cap Frehel, with its impressive cliffs and extensive panoramas is an option. The evening is free to explore the local area.
Daily Distance = 75 miles.
Sunday 14th October
After a breakfast, it is time to drive to Caen, with options for visits to Granville, Bayeux and the Normandy beaches. Check-in at the port by 15.00hrs for the 16.00hrs crossing back to Portsmouth. Arrival at Portsmouth is at
21.45hrs.
